The Department of Geography at Harokopio University offers three modern and high-level Postgraduate Programs (MSc) that respond to contemporary needs and scientific developments in the field of Geography and its applications. MSc in Climate Crisis, Risks, and Disasters
A postgraduate program focused on the understanding, assessment, and management of contemporary environmental and human-induced risks, extreme events, and the consequences of the climate crisis. It aims to specialize scientists and professionals in the design and implementation of policies for prevention, resilience, crisis management, and post-disaster recovery.
Interdepartmental MSc in Applied Geoinformatics
An interdepartmental program in collaboration with the Department of Informatics and Telematics at Harokopio University. It focuses on the application of modern technologies, including Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Remote Sensing, Machine Learning, Spatial Databases, and full-stack application development for WebGIS platforms, in areas such as environmental management, spatial planning, socio-spatial inequalities, and decision-making. It is addressed to graduates of natural, technological, and social sciences who wish to gain expertise in geospatial technologies and their applications.
Interinstitutional MSc SILVER ECONOMY: Economy, Society, and Innovation in Longevity
The Master’s Program “SILVER ECONOMY: Economy, Society, and Innovation in Longevity” is a comprehensive program aimed at identifying and capitalizing on opportunities, promoting growth and innovation, and ensuring social cohesion in the era of demographic aging. The program is aimed, among others, at economists, geographers, social scientists, political scientists, social workers, and executives in public administration, local government, business, and NGOs. The program trains the next generation of public administration executives, local government officials, managers, consultants, entrepreneurs, policymakers, experts, and researchers in Greece and beyond, and enables graduates to contribute through their work in a cutting-edge field. It encourages specialized scientists to either continue theoretical scientific research or pursue professional opportunities as executives in organizations, businesses, and as professionals. The MSc program is offered in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Regional Development at Panteion University.
